Nickelodeon announced Houston Rockets All-Star point guard Chris Paul to host its 2018 Kids Choice Sports Awards, a yearly event that celebrates kids favorite athletes and the years most extraordinary sports moments.

"I am honored that Nickelodeon asked me to host this year's Kids' Choice Sports awards," Paul said in a statement. "I grew up on Nickelodeon and now love watching it with my kids, and I can't wait to share this experience with them."

I promise to bring the fun, the slime and the most epic stunts in Kids' Choice Sports history.

The show will tape live on July 19 from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica and is set to air July 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon. The telecast is sure to feature super famous athletes, and likely many of Paul's friends.

Paul will succeed Seattle Seahawks quarterback and all-around nice guy Russell Wilson, who's hosted the show the previous three years.
