MTV halts 'Catfish' production as Nev Schulman is investigated for sexual misconduct

The host of the hit show "Catfish" is coming under fire for sexual misconduct allegations; the show has been suspended until they can look into the matter.

MTV is suspending production on Catfish: The TV Show to look into sexual misconduct allegations against Nev Schulman.

 

A spokesperson for MTV told The Daily Beast, "We take these allegations very seriously. Were working with Critical Content, our third party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation."

Schulman is the host and executive producer for the popular show which revolves around investigating online relationships and exposes people who are impersonating people online and trying to trick their victims.

 

The show is in its seventh season and is based on Schulmans 2010 documentary of the same name.

 

Schulman told The Daily Beast, "I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actionsbut these claims are false."

 

He is married to Laura Perlongo, and they have a daughter together Cleo James.
