After a 1-0 loss to Manchester City, Chelsea fans have received more bad news. Star Striker Álvaro Morata has sustained a myofascial injury to his hamstring muscles, which will keep him sidelined for at least a month. The news is a big hit for Chelsea as the all-star striker had scored 6 goals in 7 matches with his new team.
Although Spain had reported the injury to be serious, Chelsea trainers have re-evaluated Morata and see him returning to action sooner than predicted. It appears that Morata will attempt to be ready to go for Chelsea’s game vs. Crystal Palace.
Michy Batshuayi is the only other notable seasoned striker on Chelsea after the release of Diego Costa last week. Morata’s MRI revealed a grade two myofascial injury to his hamstring muscles. Chelsea fans will want to keep their fingers crossed that Morata will be able to return sooner than later.
