Rapper Jimmy Wopo shot and killed in Pittsburgh drive-by shooting

Another loss in the hip-hop community, rising artist Jimmy Wopo was fatally shot in Pittsburgh.

Up-and-coming Pittsburgh rapper Jimmy Wopo was one of the victims in a double shooting in the Middle Hill neighborhood on Monday evening.

 

His manager Taylor Maglin confirmed.

 

"I lost my brother today and its the worst feeling in the world. He was destined for greatness and he wanted the best for his friends, family and community," he said. "We lost a great person today, but just know I will do everything in my power to make his memory live on forever. Love you bro."

The artist was born Travon Smart. WTAE reports that one of the two victims was pronounced dead while the other is in stable condition. The shooting took place by Wylie Avenue and Duff Street.

 

Maglin said, "Jimmy unfortunately passed away and I ask at this time you keep his family in your prayers during this difficult time. He had such a bright future and I cant believe hes gone."
