EDIT 4/12/2018: After rumors swirled of Meek Mill's release, his attorney Joe Tacopina stated, "there is no truth to those reports," in an email to PhillyVoice.

The imprisonment of Philadelphia native & popular rapper, Meek Mill, has been all-but low profile. He is currently serving up to four years due to probation violations, dating back to a drugs and weapons charge in 2007. Many have echoed their support of the rapper, some going so far as to visit in-person.

Well-known celebrities, including James Harden, Colin Kaepernick, and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney, as well as wealthy moguls, such as Robert Kraft & billionaire, Mike Rubin, have gone so far as to visit & support Mill. Fans of the hip hop artist will be glad to find the latest information suggests good news for Meek Mill. Reports on Twitter and Instagram suggest that he is "expected to be released from jail Monday after his court hearing."

The mayor, like Mike, believes that Robert would better serve the community outside of prison, and that his case makes clear and urgent the desperate need to continue working with our partners to reform our criminal justice system.

Despite the calls of many disheartened hip-hop heads, as well as the outcry of several celebrities across industries, Meek Mill's case has proven tough. His lawyer went so far as to accuse the presiding judge, Genece Brinkley, of having a personal vendetta against Meek Mill. When the charges first came out, many fans were confused as to why the rapper was going to jail in the first place.

As such, it's no surprise that many agree with the sentiments of his mother, Kathy Williams, in her open letter against the justice system. Since being signed to the Miami-based Rick Ross' record label, "Maybach Music Group (MMG)", Meek Mill has crafted an incredibly successful career in music. Fans of the #FreeMeek movement have arranged widely-televised rallies & protests to support Meek Mill's cause, and Monday's hearing could be the culmination of it all.

And I mean HURRRRRUP!!! #FreeMeek
