While vinyl has seen a lot of love in the past few years, no one thought cassettes would make a comeback, but in 2017 Kanye and Eminem both topped the cassette charts. There were 174,000 cassette albums sold which was a 35% increase from 2016. The top ten list included the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix mixtape.

Its nice to only be able to listen to whats in front of you, instead of having the entirety of music at your fingertips with Spotify and all that. Theres also something warm and fuzzy about tapes to me, maybe in a nostalgic kind of way.

People also loved the Stranger Things Vol. 1 analog version of the soundtrack which landed at number four. Eminem's cassette version of The Slim Shady Show landed at number five, and Kanye's Yeezus landed at number nine. The Hamilton Mixtape fell at number six which featured Nas, Chance The Rapper, Wiz Khalifa and more.
