Carrie Underwood penned a heartfelt letter to her fans and thanked them for being so supportive while she recovers from her injuries.

The country star slipped outside her home in Nashville and broke her wrist back in November and had to have 40-50 stitches put into her face leaving her to inform fans that she might look a little different. Underwood has since reframed from revealing her face in photos up until recently.

The mother-of-one detailed her recovery in the letter, writing, "My wrist is almost back to normal, about 90% thereand the docs say that last 10% will come in time. And my face has been healing pretty nicely as well. I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while."

"One of the silver linings for me in this healing process is the time I've gotten to spend with Mike and Isaiah," she added. "I've been calling it 'forced relaxation.' Sometimes I think things happen in order to make us slow down."

Underwood also told her fans that she was busy working on new music, "The other thing Ive been up to over the past few months is of course making new music."

"I've been in the studio writing and singing a TON, but Ive also been able to be creative in a way that Ive never been before, which has been very fulfilling and empowering," she continued. "While I was writing last year, I met a writer/producer named David Garcia. We hit it off in a big way and I'm excited to say that we are co-producing my album together."

I definitely feel more like myself than I have in a while. One of the silver linings for me in this healing process is the time Ive gotten to spend with Mike and Isaiah. Ive been calling it 'forced relaxation.'
