Puma and video game publisher Sega has released a first-look photo of their Sonic The Hedgehog sneaker collaboration, which will debut later this year in conjunction with the celebration of the legendary game, according to Hypebeast.

The collaboration will officially rewind the Puma Running Series (RS) model, a 1980s era running shoe which is scheduled for a summer return. The SEGA x PUMA RS-0 Sonic emphasizes a fuzzy-textured Sonic-blue upper, Sonic coloring and details, and the PUMA brand and Sonic The Hedgehog logos displayed on the tongue.

Were excited to be able to partner with such a fun and innovative brand with a longstanding history in popular culture. We are one with SEGA in always pushing the boundaries forward and are very proud of the fantastic result of this collaboration.

There are also green/yellow embellishing check prints representing the road Sonic runs on, and the rear chevron-like shaping denotes the signature speed boosts.

Scheduled for a June drop, the Sega x PUMA RS-0 Sonic will likely become one of Puma's most sought-after sneaker releases of the summer.

Pricing for the shoe hasn't been announced yet.
