Per team and multiple sources, the New York Mets have invited Tim Tebow back for spring training in St. Lucie, Florida, on Friday.

The former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner spent 2017 playing in the Mets' minor league system and batted .226 with eight home runs and 52 RBIs in 126 games.

In looking back, there's a lot of ups and downs, a lot of learning moments. Almost every day there's something that I've never been through before that I'm learning.

Beginning last season in the South Atlantic League, he was eventually promoted to the Florida State League to play for Class A St. Lucie in June, where he hit .317 over his first 25 games.

He also had a 12-game hitting streak as an outfielder and designated hitter.

The former Florida Gator likely won't make the roster but looks to make strides in year two of his baseball journey.
