With the rise in eSports, professional gaming is becoming an extremely lucrative career. In a recent interview with CNBC, pro gamer Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins told reporters that he makes nearly $500K per month, mainly coming from Amazon Prime and Twitch subscribers. The number might sound insane until you take into consideration that he has compiled over 8.7 million followers on Twitch and YouTube combined.

All the kids out there, you can't just drop everything and focus on playing videogames for a living. It's also becoming a very competitive career choice right now, and you want to make sure you're securing your future and putting in the extra time to try to make this happen as well.

Ninja gained his popularity when he was younger nearly ten years ago as a professional HALO player, but is now making waves in Fortnite. Last week, Ninja made headlines for setting a new Twitch record for streams after teaming up with rappers Drake and Travis Scott to bring in 630,000 live streamers. Although the numbers may seem impressive to many, gaming is gaining popularity faster than any other professional sport. Finally, being a nerd is starting to pay off.
