As if Skyrim isn’t already packed with creatures that can kill you in just about no time, Bethesda has announced a new survival mode coming soon. At a currently undetermined price for PS4 and Xbox One users, players can really put their skills to the test and now be challenged by hunger, sleep deprivation, and freezing temperatures like never before as they take on quests.
Skyrim’s Survival mode has already been released in beta form to the PC platform and it sounds grueling. To start off fast travel has completely been eliminated and just about everything hurts you. The lack of regenerative health means cooking food regularly to avoid food poisoning, the amount of items one can carry has been restructured-not in your benefit, and wild beasts now have the ability to pass on diseases.
“PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will get to experience Survival Mode and other Creations early next month. Both PC and console players will get Survival Mode free for one week once it launches on their preferred platform.”

As for the original game, Skyrim will be 6 years old this November and amazing still staying relevant with add-on releases. It will be interesting to see if this will be the last before Bethesda moves past their fifth title in the largely renowned Elder Scrolls series.
