2K predicts NBA champions, awards.

With the NBA season starting yesterday, gaming series NBA 2K18 has run simulations of the 2017-2018 season to predict this year's champion.

NBA 2K is high on the Thunder as the gaming franchise has announced that the video game predicted Oklahoma City to win the title this season. The simulation had some rather surprising results as the defending champs, the Golden State Warriors, were projected to lose in the first round of the playoffs. The Thunder defeated the Wizards in game 7 of the finals according to the game's simulation.

2K predicted that Steph Curry would win the MVP award for the third time while his coach, Steve Kerr, would win the Coach of the Year award. The Warriors were predicted to win the west followed by the Rockets, Clippers, Thunder, Nuggets, Jazz, Spurs and the eighth seed Minnesota Timberwolves. In the first round of the playoffs, the simulation favored the Timberwolves over the Warriors in a 7 game series.

NBA 2K18 is proving to be the best game in the entire franchise. This gets said every year with each new release and it feels almost like parroting at this point, but this is an iteration that may bring back many fans that have started to feel a little burnt on the series. People like me.

As far as awards go, the Most Improved Player went to Karl-Anthony Towns and the sixth man of the year was awarded to Lonzo Ball. Although 2K simulations haven't always been the most valuable, the gaming franchise is by far seen as the most successful basketball game and is credible for how realistic the game is. Do you think that the Thunder can pull off the upset and win the Finals this year?
