Tom Brady posts on Malcolm Butler's statement on social media

It would appear that the five-time Super Bowl champion supports Malcolm Butler's very public denial of rumors and Belichick's reasoning for his Super Bowl benching.

Well, look at what we have here.

Of course, everyone knows Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler was benched by head coach Bill Belichick, for the entirety of the Super Bowl. At first, the coach says it was a football decision.

NFL Network reporter Ian Rapaport subsequently reported on NFL Total Access that Belichick's decision involved multiple factors, including lousy practice sessions and a supposed team violation.

However, Butler says nothing of what's been rumored was true, and went to social media and posted a long statement to the effect.

And Tom Brady like the post. And there's more. He wrote a comment.

Love you Malcolm. You are an incredible player and teammate and friend. Always!!!!!!

Tom Brady
Quarterback, New England Patriots

The fact that Brady - a numerous current and former players who know the Pats' locker room - would like and comment on Butler's statement speaks volumes.

It would appear that Belichick doesn't have the complete favor of the locker room at this time and that his ego-driven decision was, in fact, costly to the team's success.
