The Los Angeles Rams were at a 41-39 win over the San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara California when Sammy Watkins had to be evacuated for a possible concussion according to multiple sources.
Watkins was doing well with six catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns but took a helmet-to-helmet hit and was taken into the medical tent. Watkins has missed a lot of time due to injuries, sitting out eight games in 2016.
The NFL’s policy mandates that players are cleared by an independent doctor before returning to practice or competition after sustaining a concussion. Watkins will have 10 days to get healthy ahead of the Rams’ next game on Oct. 1.
