After the New York Giants wide receiving corps was hit with a slew of injuries in Sunday’s game vs. the Chargers, former greats Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens both tweeted the Chargers. The Giants lost star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. as well as the second leading WR Brandon Marshall.
Although both receivers are several years removed form the league, many think that they would be valuable weapons compared to the Giants depleted WR corps. Johnson hasn’t played a snap since the 2011 season, while Owens retired in 2010. Owens still claims that he can run 4.4, and even went as far as saying it’s “a joke” that he doesn’t have a job.
It will be interesting to see where the Giants turn to fill the holes left void from Odell and Brandon Marshall. Owens seems to be dumbfounded by the fact that he has not been picked up by a team, and has been vocally upset about being snubbed out of a Hall of Fame selection for two straight years.
