Photos have surfaced of Tom Brady's gruesome right thumb injury following the finale of his Facebook docuseries, Tom vs. Time.

The bloody images show a significant gash just below the crease of the quarterback's thumb on his right hand. The injury came during an early practice days before the AFC Championship game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As a result, Brady received stitches and acupuncture to treat his injury.

When I hurt my thumb, I thought , This is it. This is the way the season ends. Looking down at my thumb as its split open, thinking I really dont know what happened, but I know it doesnt feel good. I had a real tough time believing Im going to be able to go out and play well against the No. 1 ranked defense in the league in four days.

Brady was able to pull off yet another stunning performance to clutch another trip to the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots.

With Brady's thumb mostly healed by the time the team arrived in Minnesota, the arguably greatest quarterback of all-time had a remarkable passing performance against the Philadelphia Eagles, throwing for over 500 yards. However, the Patriots fell short, losing 41-33.
