Jay Ajayi takes shot at Dolphins' Gase

The British-born running back alludes directly to Adam Gase casting him away, though trading him to a winning team didn't appear to be true punishment.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Jay Ajayi had a word for Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase.

Drafted by Miami, he made the Pro Bowl in 2016, racing for 1,272 yards and eight touchdowns in his second season. He was traded away to the Eagles, following an estrangement between him and Gase.

But Ajayi appears to have gotten the last word in his Instagram.

THEY may have tried to discredit you, discount you, throw dirt on your name...none of it matters now. LEGACIES LAST FOREVER. funny how they were GASsEd over journalistic...look at me now. ONLY GOD.??? YURP^?

Ajayi didn't have much to offer when asked about his departure in media sessions before the Super Bowl. According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald (h/t, the former Boise State star had become an issue in the Dolphins locker room.

Alex Donno of WQAM Miami said the trade was some leveling of punishment for Ajayi, for speaking out about playing time. However, apparently, the Dolphins did not trust his knees to hold up.
