Per writer Mike Garafalo, Tampa, Fla. police are investigating a vehicle registered to Buccaneers wide receiver DeSean Jackson, which was crashed into a tree Sunday night.

The subsequent search of the Chevy Silverado discovered 6.3 grams of marijuana and a couple of hollow-point bullets.

Jackson is cooperating to an extent, giving the authorities the name of a person he says took the vehicle without permission. However, he declined to help them retrieve the driver.

It was a friend of DeSean's who borrowed his car while he was out of town. None of what was in the car was his obviously. He's dealing with the person that was using it without his knowledge privately. The incident is being handled.

Jackson, who signed a three-year $33.5 million deal last March, will have to prove he wasn't in the truck. He was inactive and did not travel for the team's Week 16 game against Carolina.
