49ers LB Reuben Foster arrested for domestic violence

The former Alabama standout was arrested for the second time in a month. He was previously arrested for second-degree marijuana possession in Alabama.

Per Sarah Ravani and Eric Branch of San Francisco Chronicle (h/t Bleacher Report) 49ers inside linebacker Reuben Foster was arrested Sunday, on charges of domestic violence and possession of an assault weapon.

His second arrest within a month, Foster was previously taken into custody on Jan. 12 in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and charged with second-degree marijuana possession, i.e., personal use.

A statement from Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department stated that the 23-year-old Foster was arrested in Los Gatos after police received a call around 9:15 a.m. about a domestic disturbance.

The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the report regarding Reuben Foster. We take matters of this nature seriously and are gathering all pertinent information.

Foster was held on $75,000 bail, per Santa Clara County Jail booking documents. Sacramento Bee reported he was released at around 6:35 p.m.

Per ESPN's Nick Wagoner, the 49ers organization has stated that they are aware of Foster's arrest and are "in the process of gathering facts about the situation."
