Georgia tops Alabama in first CFB rankings.

In a shocking matter, the Georgia Bulldogs are atop the first week of the College Football Playoffs rankings followed by Alabama, Notre Dame, and Clemson.

The first College Football Playoff Rankings have been released and there was a surprise at number one. The Georgia Bulldogs edged out SEC foe Alabama to take the top spot in the rankings with Notre Dame and Clemson rounding out the top four. This will be the fourth year under the playoff system after the NCAA switched from the previous Bowl Championship Series rankings.

I could care less about the poll. What significance does a poll have right now? All we're talking about right here is the challenge of our season, and where are we going to be in the poll if we don't play well in the next four games?

The top ten is as follows: Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Penn State, TCU, Wisconsin, and Miami. Oklahoma State and Washington were the first two teams out of the top ten. Georgia and Alabama will presumably face each other in the SEC championship game, so it will be interesting to see how that game determines the future of the rankings if both teams can remain undefeated.
