Johnny Manziel cleared to play in CFL

While Manziel has been cleared to sign a contract, the CFL has set confidential conditions under which the Heisman Trophy winner must abide by.

The Canadian Football League has approved former NFL and Heisman winning quarterback Johnny Manziel to play in 2018, the league announced Thursday.

Manziel's CFL rights are currently owned by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. With the league's investigation into his domestic violence case concluded, the Tiger-Cats will decide if Manziel is a fit for the club, who he worked out for in Septem

These conditions (for which Manziel must perform under), while extensive and exacting, remain confidential.

The official CFL statement states additional provisions: "Mr. Manziel has been required to meet a number of conditions set by the league. Mr. Manziel has been informed he must continue to meet a number of conditions in order to remain eligible.
