"You used to be one thing; now youre something else." Much to fans delight, Sony released the first teaser trailer for Venom, starring Tom Hardy, on Thursday, just one day after sharing the official movie poster.

In the clip, Hardy makes his debut as Eddie Brock - the "lethal protector" Venom. Sony describes him as "one of Marvels most enigmatic, complex and badass characters."

We all have our own problems. Our own issues. Our own demons.

The teaser is brief and only shows snippets of what's to come, but just enough to have you wanting more. "Everyone's got their thing. Maybe it's a breakup, a death, an accident. Whatever it is, you used to be one thing. Now, you're something else," Hardy says in the voiceover. "We all have our own problems. Our own issues. Our own demons."

In addition to Hardy, the cast includes Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze and Reid Scott.

Venom lands in theaters on October 5.
