Between Carrie Fisher's untimely death in real life, the soul-crushing death of Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Luke Skywalker's heartbreaking death in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Hamill just doesn't have it in him to return.

"It really has tarnished my ability to enjoy it to its fullest," he said in an interview with ABC News. "You were asking earlier, 'Are you going to come back?' I dont care anymore on that level because Han Solo is gone, Luke is gone. And you just cant get the band back together the way you wanted it to be."

You just can't get the band back together the way you wanted it to be, and it shouldn't be that way.

"You just can't get the band back together the way you wanted it to be, and it shouldn't be that way," the 66-year-old continued. "It is what it is. Rather than being sorry that we can't have more of her, I'm just grateful that we had the time with her that we did."

Fisher passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 27, 2016, after going into cardiac arrest aboard an LAX-bound flight.
