UFC President Dana White gave fight fans some additional "clarity" on upcoming title fights during the official UFC 223 pre-fight press conference on Wednesday.

He discussed the state of Conor McGregor UFC lightweight title situation, plus the tenuous nature of interim champion Tony Ferguson's health has caused much speculation.

However, on top of the clarification, White says the Irish star will definitely be back.

White announced that he's officially stripping McGregor to which the now-former champion provided a terse response on Twitter.

The UFC President is also keeping Ferguson in place (somehow) as he works through an injury. though the official lightweight title will be on the line during Saturday's match between Khabib Nurmagomedov and UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway.

Given White's proclamation on McGregor, it's likely he fights for the title in 2018, though superfights with Georges St-Pierre or Nate Diaz are also possible.

Conor McGregor is 100 percent coming back this year. He will fight this year. And we'll see how thing plays out, and we'll go from there.
