Floyd Mayweather's bodyguard shot in nightclub

The unnamed bodyguard was shot in the leg and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, according to a local Atlanta station WSB-TV. He's in stable condition as police say the incident was likely a targeted shooting.

An unnamed man claiming to be Floyd Mayweather's bodyguard was shot moments after pulling up to the InterContinental, a luxury Atlanta hotel, according to TMZ Sports.

 

An unidentified car rode alongside three vehicles one carrying Mayweather as they returned to the Buckhead-area hotel at about 3 a.m. on Monday and opened fire with a bullet hitting a bodyguard, according to local reporting. 

 

Per Atlanta police, it appears to have been a targeted shooting.

Several Atlanta police officers responded to the scene at the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta around 3 a.m. Monday in the 3300 block of Peachtree Road, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

 

It was later reported by local news channel WSB-TV that the bodyguard was shot in the leg and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. He's expected to survive.

 

"We believe that Mr. Mayweather may have been in one of the other vehicles in the caravan and was not injured," he continued.
