Vince Vaughn was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving.

The actor was stopped at a checkpoint outside of Los Angeles early on Sunday morning while he was driving with a passenger. Both men were arrested and taken to the Manhattan Beach jail and were later released.

The checkpoint was between Hermosa and Manhattan Beach. They were also charged with public intoxication and resisting, delaying, or obstructing officers.

There was no officer use of force or anything like that.

Spokesman for the Manhattan Beach Police Department

Sgt. Tim Sins said the charges were not about Vaughn fighting the officers, but delaying the investigation.

The arrest is a first for the actor, who has no previous drunk driving arrests, but he was involved in a fight with Steve Buscemi, and screenwriter Scott Rosenberg in 2001 in North Carolina.

They were at a bar when two local men picked a fight with them. Buscemi ended up getting stabbed, and Vaughn was arrested, but the charges were dropped.

Vaughn's most recent film was Brawl in Cell Block 99 in which he played a former boxer.
