Selma Blair turns 46 on Saturday, but she celebrated another big event this week. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she revealed she was celebrating two years of sobriety.

Blair was proud of the accomplishment but said the journey was rocky and had many ups and downs.

The actress wrote, "Two years sober. Two years feeling everything and nothing. Two years of extreme gratitude and humility and grace."

The actress used the occasion to thank the people in her life who stood by her, writing, "I thank the lord and my friends. I prayed for a miracle at my lowest points. I am a living miracle. Thank you. Thank you. #birthdaygirl #almost46 #summersolstice #grace."

In June of 2016, she was taken off an international flight after a trip to Cancun, Mexico, after passing out. A source told People at the time that she took a combination of medication and alcohol.

She made a statement to Vanity Fair saying, "I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret."
