Trolls started coming after Selena Gomez after they saw bikini pics of the singer. Commenters were saying she looked "thick," and some were saying she looked pregnant, but Selena says she is happy and taking care of herself. She posted about the beauty myth and impossible beauty standards, but she's choosing to be healthy and happy. After undergoing a kidney transplant her body has been a little different.

The beauty myth- an obsession with physical perfection that traps modern woman in an endless cycle of hopelessness, self consciousness, and self-hatred as she tries to fulfill society's impossible definition of flawless beauty. I chose to take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone. Wind in her sails.

She recently opened up about how the surgery changed her body which fans were quick to point out that it made the body-shaming extra disgusting. She said, "I have a bit of an obtrusion that will be there forever," she said. "And that means Im going to have to dress differently. It was really, really massive at first. I ended up having to get it drained."
