'Game of Thrones' star 'The Mountain' wins World's Strongest Man title

Talk about life imitating art. "The Mountain" from Game of Thrones is truly the world's strongest man.

 

Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, at long last, has finally won the lo, elite strength-athlete competition, the World's Strongest Man, on Sunday in the Philippines. (ESPN will show the event in its June programming.)

 

The 29-year-old native of Iceland had shown well in previous WSM competition, with three second-place and three third-place finishes in the event.

The behemoth, standing at 6-feet-9-inches and weighing around 400 pounds, had more to gain than arguably any participant in history and has created a path forward, regarding marketing potential.

 

Being attached the Game of Thrones is notable alone, but now with the official World's Strongest Man title under his belt, the world will be his oyster in terms of advertising and acting roles - as well as salary/appearance considerations.
