Golden State forward/center Draymond Green turned up the heat early.

Less than two minutes into Game 1 between the Houston Rockets and Warriors on Monday, Draymond Green - more or less - put hands to James Harden's neck underneath the Rockets basket after a basket.

It earned Green an early technical, but it immediately raised the already-high stakes of what's been called the de facto NBA Finals.

I was a bit overzealous, a bit amped up, but I'd rather that any day than coming out flat.

Green got hot under the collar often, even getting into the facts of referees. Green, likely understanding the psychology will likely simmer down for Game 2, though his teammates aren't worried.

"I didnt even think twice about it. Draymond is not the guy that we got to calm down because he gets a tech," said Kevin Durant, who had a team-high 37 points on 14-of-27 shooting from the field. "He knows exactly what hes doing out there, so thats something were not even going to talk about. He knows what hes doing, we all trust him. We moved past that and he played extremely hard tonight."
