Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry scored 49 points, including 13 over the closing 1:42, elevating the reigning champion Golden State Warriors over the Boston Celtics, 109-105 on Saturday night.

Celtics guard Kyrie Irving, perhaps working a little harder for his buckets, scored 37 points on 13-for-18 shooting with five 3s.

Of note - Boston continues their slide, now having lost five of six games.

The way [Irving] started the game tonight was pretty crazy. We try to bring the best out of each other. Tonight was one of those nights, just a fun way to play.

Curry also connected on eight 3-pointers and shot 16 of 24 overall. It was his second 40-point game of the season.

Draymond Green tallied 15 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists. Kevin Durant put up 20 points and nine rebounds for the Warriors.

Celtics forward Jaylen Brown scored 20.

The Celtics will need to figure out a way to score without Irving in the game, as they continued the struggle when he came out to rest.
