The Utah Jazz also signed the point guard to a contract for the remainder of the season, after playing through two 10-day contracts — the last of which had just expired.

Contrary to conventional or convenient thought, the son of NBA legend and Hall of Famer John Stockton, David Stockton, actually made his NBA debut with the Sacramento Kings a few years ago. However, his greatest moment had to be last night.

Now a member of the Jazz, Stockton checked into Utah's 117-95 home win over the Clippers with just over two minutes left in the game.

After checking in, Stockton used a good screen and pulled up for three, just like his dad. Now, he's just 842 of those away from catching up.

Utah has signed Stockton for the rest of the season, after playing on a pair of 10-day contracts, reports Yahoo Sports.

The Jazz (46-33) are fourth in the Western Conference with a handful of games left and looking to clinch homecourt for the opening round.

Incredible atmosphere in Vivint tonight.. Thank you Jazz fans for creating a great moment for this home town kid. #TakeNote
