Nowitzki's jersey misspelled on his 50,000th minute night

Despite the loss and the jersey mishap, it provides a moment to reflect on the German sharpshooter's long and illustrious career.

Dallas Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki's historic night, where he passed 50,000 career minutes, was twice ruined.

First, the hapless Mavericks, playing their younger players, were outscored 13-0 in the final 4:40, missing seven shots, turning over the ball four times.

They would fall to the Clippers 104-101 after blowing the 10-point lead.

That would usually be enough, but there was more.

(On his misspelled jersey) I didn't even notice. It kind of sums up our season.

Secondly, the 19-year veteran's jersey was misspelled. However, the season has been so awful he hadn't even noticed.

His 50,018 minutes currently places him fifth all-time. He ranks just behind Jason Kidd, who he will likely pass within the next 10 games.

Should the former NBA Finals MVP choose to play next season, he will pass former Timberwolves and Celtics great Kevin Garnett.
