Magic Johnson is steadfast in his belief in Lonzo Ball's potential.

Per Bill Oram of the Southern California News Group (h/t Bleacher Reports) the Lakers president and legend said Ball will continue to be the team's starting point guard.

The Lakers obtained Thomas, forward Channing Frye and a 2018 first-round draft pick from the Cleveland Cavaliers for Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. yesterday. The move cleared space for the team to push for max-level stars during the next two free agency periods.

Lonzo is our starting point guard. That hasnt changed.

Thomas is reportedly "ecstatic" about his move to Los Angeles, but there have been whispers about a buyout, if he's forced to come off the bench for the Lakers.

A two-time All-Star, Thomas missed the first 36 games this season with a hip injury, and in 15 games, scored 14.7 points on a career-low 36.1 percent shooting clip.
