The past year has been a roller-coaster ride for point guard Isaiah Thomas. After being traded to the Cavaliers last off-season, Thomas struggledto find his role in Cleveland and was eventually traded to the Lakers after having a falling out with the team.

Now, the controversial point guard is taking time off to re-evaluate the lingering hip injury that kept him sidelined to start the season. The injury first came to fruition last season duringlast season's Eastern Conference finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers where Thomas suffered a torn labrum.

We obviously approach each day with the guys that we have. We just want whatevers best for him and his health and his career, so whatever that decision is well support.

Thomas then chose to forego surgery in the off-season in order to rehab his injured hip. The decision forced IT3 to miss the first three months of the season, and it appears the nagging injury has flared up once again. Thomas could opt for surgery this time which could hinder his ability to ink any max-deal contract he was seeking this off-season. The timing couldn't be worse as Thomas was just beginning to find his stride with the Lakers. More info should be available by the end of the week.
