James Johnson, Serge Ibaka ejected after throwing hands

While not widely known, Johnson is a well-trained black belt, who has a 7-0 record in MMA fights and is currently 20-0 as a kickboxer.

Toronto Raptors forward Serge Ibaka and Miami Heat forward James Johnson were both ejected from Tuesday night's game at Air Canada Centre.

They were tossed for throwing a set of the softest punches in league history, during a third-quarter row with 7:50 remaining.

It was the first time either had been ejected from a contest.

It certainly felt like there was something at stake from the very tip, and that's the way it should be in this league. There was a physicality, an edge to the game.

The irony is that Johnson is a well-trained black belt, who's 7-0 in MMA fights and 20-0 as a kickboxer.

Perhaps he realized he could've seriously injured Ibaka because he held back from full utilization his skillset.

Miami would eventually scratch out a 90-89 victory over Toronto, with guard Wayne Ellington making a lay-up with less than a second left.
