James Harden: Adidas releases emotional MVP commercial featuring his mom — watch

Adidas jumped right into celebrating James Harden taking home the coveted MVP award on Monday night.

Within moments of James Harden stepping onto the stage at the 2018 NBA Awards show on Monday,  Adidas unveiled its heartwarming commercial highlighting the Houston Rockets star. 


But Harden wasn't the only star of the commercial: His mom Monja Willis stepped in to narrate the ad and revealed all the the hard work Harden put into becoming the MVP.

I'm not going to get emotional but she is my backbone, good times, bad times... Sixth Man of the Year [in 2011-12] to the MVP.

In the ad, Willis  shares how when Harden was a kid, he once wrote her a note which included the following message, "Keep this paper Imma be a star."


Along with the film, Adidas also released a special MVP footwear collection, including the Harden Vol. 2, Harden LS 2 and Harden B/E (Brothers Through Everything) X models. Each features a matching color palette in a blue and gold inspired by the seal of the City of Compton, where James grew up. All three also include MVP callouts and marbled rubber outsoles.
