Al Horford drills buzzer-beater to take down Portland

Horford provided something for the New England area fans to be happy about, as faint consolation to the Patriots' Super Bowl defeat.

Boston Celtics center Al Horford went into his All-Star bag, and pulled out something of a consolation for the New England area faithful, nailing a game-winner jumper to drop the visiting Portland Trailblazers 97-96.

Horford caught the ball, in a play that was drawn up for Jaylen Brown. He kept it, took two dribbles and spun away with a fadeaway, awkward but true.

Coach just called it on the fly, one of our plays. And then I seen him whisper to Al, like, fake it. And he faked it to Jaylen and he got in his bag, he did his move. Shout out to the skills challenge.

Guard, Boston Celtics

Horford led with a team-high 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Terry Rozier started again for All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving, who sat out again with what's being called a bruised quad. He scored 11 points.

Damian Lillard shot poorly, going 6 for 19, finished with 21 points and nine assists. CJ McCollum had game-high 22 points.
