Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thomspon nailed down the game in relatively few words.

"They punked us," Thompson told ESPN. "Early and often."

Marcus Morris scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while harassing LeBron James into just 15 points, nine assists, with seven turnovers. (Morris guarded James on 24 plays, limiting him to 5 points on 2-of-5 shooting.)

The Boston Celtics quickly opened a 21-point, first-quarter lead to dominate Cleveland from the jump, leading to a 108-83 in Game 1.

Jaylen Brown led all scoring with 23 points, and Al Horford added 20 points for Boston.

I'm a competitor. He's the best player, and I'm going to be able to tell my kids this one day.

The Celtics scored 17 unanswered points in the first, and the Cavaliers never got out of their double-digit hole. The Celtics were up by 28 when James left for good with 7:09 remaining.

Game 2 is Tuesday night.

"I have zero level of concern at this stage," James said of his 5-of-16 performance. "I didn't go to college, so it's not March Madness. You know, you get better throughout the series. You see ways you can get better throughout the series. But I've been down 0-1, I've been down 0-2, I've been down before in the postseason. But for me, there's never no level of concern, no matter how bad I played tonight with seven turnovers, how inefficient I was shooting the ball."
