LeBron 'refocused' before trade overhaul, loses against the Wiz

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James says he was ready for action, even before the big moves at the trade deadline.

"Before the deadline happened, before the trades happened, I re-focused myself to understand that I'm the leader of this team and I have to be mentally sharp and mentally strong throughout anything," he said, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "Even before the trade, I planned on us having that team for the rest of the season."

It showed in a home matchup ahead of the deadline, with an explosive triple-double in a big win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Going 4-0 before the All-Star break, you anticipated some come-down from the recent highs - and that occurred in Thursday night's loss to the Washington Wizards. 

However, he didn't sound discouraged. 

Its still a work in progress with us. Its not going to be overnight ... we have a lot of things to work on & implement that we need to do, but tonight we still played to our game and we just didnt make a lot of shots.

James, who won MVP at the All-Star Game, scored 32 with 14 in the fourth. 

While James played well throughout the game, the rest of the Cavs went 0-10 from the field in the last 9:30 of the last stanza. 

Cleveland will have an opportunity to get back in rhythm with a game Friday night against the lowly Memphis Grizzlies.
