The third game of Cleveland Cavaliers guard Isaiah Thomas' season was made brief after he was thrown out of the game, in a 127-99 blowout loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday.

Thomas chopped Wolves forward Andrew Wiggins across the face and neck area, which put him down.

After an officials review, Thomas was given a flagrant foul 2 and ejected with 6:47 remaining in the third.

I've gotten numerous steals like that, going out like that. It just happened I hit him in the throat. I apologized right away because I didn't mean to do that. I'm just glad he's all right

Thomas struggled while he was in the game, scoring nine points on 3-for-11 shooting to go with three assists in 19 minutes.

His performance was indicative of the Cavs' overall performance, especially of the starters. LeBron James scored just 10 points with eight rebounds, five assists, and two blocks.
