San Antonio Spur superstar Kawhi Leonard suffered a partial tear in his left shoulder, says coach Gregg Popovich.

He's expected to miss time, but the team doesn't consider the injury serious at this point.

Leonard suffered the injury against the Phoenix Suns on Friday and sat out Sunday's matchup with the Portland Trailblazers.

Its too bad. He was starting to get back into form a little bit after playing a couple of games.

Leonard has played only eight games this season, averaging 15.9 points per contest.

The two-time league defensive player of the year hasn't yet been ruled out of Thursday's game versus the Los Angeles Lakers.
